I went to a heads up Arm Drop style race down at Muncie Indiana... went two back to back 8.20's@167mph  1.28 60'

That new camshaft is really helping!

Have a good race guys!

Another year pretty much in the books for my 3rd Gen...

Did not do much at the start of the year.... Installed the repaired 4L80E trans from Rossler and drove the car a bit... seemed good.

Drove it up to the "Car Craft Midnight Drags" which was 187miles one way... (Old cam)  Qualified 3rd place out of over 100 cars. Ran 8.6x @165mph
I think I ended up 4th over all.

Drove to the NMCA event at Norwalk which was about 200mi one way... Ended up 4th again.

Drove to Hot Rod Drag Week 300Miles... (New Camshaft) No test time.... Got 4 more miles per gallon!  I'm at 25mpg pulling a trailer Smiley

First day the new cam made a lot more power down low... best 60' best 1/8mi mph and ET the car has ever done (Even after pulling rpm to launch down around 3600 @ 6psi!
Accidently left it in 2nd gear on that pass hit rev limiter at 7500 let off... still went 8.8@126  when I was 134 in the 1/8th..

Turned boost down... Next pass spun... Then was out of time.

I thought I had a handle on where it needed to be so made a guess at Summit (Norwalk) and went 8.57@157 Letting out.

In my class you can't run any faster than 8.50... So there were about 7 cars right at the 8.5x

Drove to Martin Ran another 8.5x... Drove to indy Went 8.603  Final track back at National Trail went two 8.5x

Got 4th place by .003 Lol.... My year for 4ths I guess.

Hope you guys had a good year.... Sure miss talking to you guys and seeing the Mustang!

Set you soon,
Scott~

I parked mine after the LSX/True Street down in Indy in October..... I've been gathering the parts I need to re-vamp the things on my list....
CamTiming... and cam cover change so it's in full sequential.
Shock re-valving.
Rocker arm Trunion upgrade
Take inside completly apart.. re-wire everything.. Remove external heater box and fab internal box (It will still work)
Trim off the fat around the car...
Add to the cage for 7.50 cert.
Get 7.50 Lic.
Wheels for the front/Rear (Wider in rear)
Fix a few paint/body related items... And test... Get the 60's down to 1.2-1.3 MPH at 180.

Kind of my goals for the year... I should be in the hunt on drag week if I get it to be consistant at 7.50-7.80 range.

Much past that the chassis is really done.... Have to start with another shell for a 6.0cert setup.... Not sure if I'll go that far...
That requires a lot more money...  And this thing is scarry enough for me now Lol.
Stay Warm!
Scott~

Did some updating to the Bustang....

Changed out the TH400 to a 4L80E with Rossler brake

Changed the rear gear from a 2:73 to a 3:27

Removed the old journal bearing 70mm and installed a billet wheel ball bearing 71mm

And sold the old "Speed Pro" yep.. that's how old it was... bank to bank system and installed a Holley Dominator!

She's up and running ... Need some good weather and I'll be able to dial it all in.

The Holley already runs much better on the car just in the little time I've had to move and tune it in the shop.

It idles so smooth it sounds like it's stock!   Shooting for 9.80's/9.9's on 93 pump gas and 30mpg.

Hope you guy's are ready for spring!  This winter has been a long cold one again!
Talk to yousoon,
Scott

This was a transbrake test ... hits the 3400rpm rev limit real quick and 10psi.... Smiley

I sure think that won't be a problem.... I have to add to the cage this winter which will take the Cert. down to 7.49... then re-licence NHRA

Both Cage and Me are only good to 8.50 as of now.....

I'm advancing the cam 4deg as well... Bring a bit more power in down low and help driveability.

Putting in a 6psi spring in the gate and try to leave at 4000rpm with lower boost so it does not kill the tires and ramp it in real quick .. or as quick as it can handle it.

Have a name of a guy to send my shocks to for re-valving...  And several other chassis things I can think of at the moment.

I'm at 20-21psi total which ramps in and 15deg of timing in boost... It seems to make decent power there but added 2deg and picked up 5mph... so that tells me

there is some more power with timing...  I'll take it a few deg at a time and sneak up on it watching the plugs every pass...

Plenty to maul over this winter for sure and improve on... Smiley

Thanks!
Scott~
